2. Rich in Vitamin B12 which is essential for maintaining the smooth functioning of the nervous system, and in general good for skin and hair growth, most nutritionists recommend including this super grain in our children’s weekly meal plans.

3. One of the most outstanding foxtail millet benefits is that it is a hearty-healthy grain. In adults, it helps to regulate blood pressure, thereby reducing the chances of blockage in the heart that may result in cardiac arrest or stroke. It also helps in the reduction of LDL levels in the body.

Ingredients

1. 1 cup foxtail millet flour or Slurrp Farm Sprouted Ragi Powder

2. 1 cup- all-purpose flour

3. 15ml of milk

4. 1gm of salt

5. 2gmof yeast

6. 5gm of sugar

7. 30ml of water

8. 1 egg

9. Oil for greasing

10. You could add a layer of sesame and flaxseeds for seasoning

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.

2. Add the sugar, salt, oil, and keep aside for 2 minutes.

3. Add the foxtail millet flour (or Slurrp Farm Sprouted Ragi Powder), all-purpose flour (maida), milk, and mix it into a smooth dough.

4. Knead until smooth and elastic, for about 8 to 10 minutes, and place in a greased bowl.

5. Cover and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size. This should ideally take about 1 ½ hour.

6. Set the oven temperature to 190°C.

7. After 1 ½ hour, punch down the dough onto a floured surface.

8. Shape it into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan and bake at 190°C for 15 to 20 minutes.

9. Remove from pan and let it cool. Now, cut into loaves and pack. You may wish to refrigerate it.
